Put-In-Bay Aquatic Visitors Center
The Other Put-in-Bay.
Put-in-Bay is a Lake Erie island known for two things: day-drunk tourists and genuine ecological significance. The Aquatic Visitors Center leans into the latter. We partnered with Graphite Design+Build and created a signage system for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, housed alongside Ohio State's Stone Lab research station. The design pulls from old nautical charts, historic documents, and vintage island signage. Typography modernized from the island's past. Fish species cards on colored fields. Readable, authentic, and built to last longer than a long weekend.
